Artistic Struggles and Delights: A Personal Dive into My World

Artistic Struggles and Delights

Today, I want to open up about an experience I recently had in the studio. It was one of those moments that truly challenged my approach to my art, pushing my emotional boundaries and forcing me to confront an uncomfortable truth.

Abandoning the Project: Embracing Artistic Struggles and Delights

My work of art was heading in a direction I didn’t initially envision, and I was grappling with the idea of abandonment. This isn’t a decision any artist takes lightly. The time, effort, and heart that goes into each piece can make it hard to let go. But sometimes, the piece takes on a life of its own, a direction that you may not necessarily agree with. And that’s okay. Part of being an artist is understanding when it’s time to step back. So, in an act of creative defiance, I ripped it off. It was heartbreaking yet cathartic, a testament to the artistic struggles and delights we face in our journey.

A Pain in the Back

On a more personal note, I’ve been dealing with some back issues lately. There’s something unsettling about not knowing the cause, and honestly, it makes me feel older than I am. I hope to figure it out soon and get back to my energetic self. But until then, I guess it’s just a reminder that even we artists aren’t immune to the physical challenges of life.

The Delight of Biltong

Switching gears a bit, let me introduce you to my newest culinary delight – biltong from a charming South African store, Angus Biltong. This little gem, based out of Spring Texas, has been delighting people with its unique treats for over 20 years. And trust me, their biltong is so much better than regular beef jerky; it satisfies my meaty cravings in the most delicious way!

The Disappointing Adventure

Last weekend, my husband and I decided to catch the new Indiana Jones movie, “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny“. As a fan of the original trilogy, I was quite excited. However, I couldn’t shake the feeling that it felt more like a typical action movie, like Mission Impossible, rather than a classic Indiana Jones adventure. The plot, though filled with action, lacked the classic charm that we associate with Indiana Jones. It was, nonetheless, an enjoyable evening with my husband.

The Magic of Grid Art (Graph Paper Art)

Despite these recent ups and downs, I find myself returning to my first love, creating Grid Art (Graph Paper Art). It’s where I find my grounding, my peace, and my joy. As I continue to navigate through these challenges, I am more than ever committed to my artistic journey, and I invite you to come along with me.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Remember, there’s beauty in the struggle, and there’s delight in the most unexpected places.
