Revealing Myself Through Art: A Personal and Artistic Journey

Revealing Myself Through Art

As an artist, there’s a constant dance between the will to create and the fear of being seen. As such, revealing myself has always been a struggle, even on a platform like Instagram. But in my pursuit of a deeper connection, I’ve decided to lay bare not just my “Grid Art” or “Graph Paper Art,” but also a piece of myself.

Revealing Myself Through Art: The Backstory

It all began in March 2020, when I launched my Instagram account as a sanctuary for my unique style of art. A place where, behind the anonymity, I could express myself freely and hopefully attract an audience that resonates with my work.

However, my desire for privacy was a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it allowed me to create without the fear of judgment. On the other hand, it created a barrier between me and those who admired my art.

Revealing Myself Through Art: The Decision

Then, an epiphany struck. Art is an intimate expression of the artist, and by maintaining my anonymity, I was robbing my audience of the chance to fully connect with my work. The more personal the connection, the more meaningful the experience. Hence, the decision to reveal myself.

My art has been a steady compass in the erratic journey of life, guiding me through the highs and the lows. It mirrors my soul, speaking volumes about me in ways words often fail. So, it only felt right that I let people know the person behind the “Grid Art” and the “Graph Paper Art.”

Revealing Myself Through Art: The Revelation

So, this week, I took the plunge and posted a picture on Instagram revealing myself. Assisted by my husband, I shared not just my face, but a slice of my life as well.

Like my art, my journey of running a store is filled with growing pains. It’s tough to put in countless hours without immediate results. But I believe it’s crucial not to give up. Every worthwhile endeavor requires effort and sacrifice, and with time, patience, and perseverance, the fruits of labor will definitely show.

Here is the picture that I shared on my Instagram account this week!
